Night Moves Prom Dresses 2010

Hello to all of my goth dolls across the globe. This is your Prom Goddess again. I’m feeling anti-preppy today. So we’re counting down the Top 8 Goth Prom Dresses starting with…

#8 Night Moves 6039 – Black Taffeta Ball Gown

I totally thought Night Moves prom dresses would be the vampiest of all. I mean come on, look at the name. Their designs are gorgeous but they don’t carry a lot of black. However, I was intoxicated by the lace-up pattern in the back of this strapless gown.

#7 Terani 35046H – Black w/ Gold Accents

Terani prom dresses are very short, frilly, and cutesy. I wondered if I’d even find something punk enough. I did. It’s a bit tutu-ish, but it’s black and it’s to die for. The gold accents are barely there, and it’s strapless. Very lolita.

#6 Precious Formals h3638 – Backless Jersey Mini

Yes, you can be precious and still be goth in Precious Formal prom dresses, especially this one. It’s a basic backless slip dress with dark and lovely sheer black cap sleeves. And there’s this little gathered design on the bottom that reminds me of a satin casket blanket. *evil grin*

#5 Jasz 4045 – Black Knit Cut Out

I didn’t find many Jasz prom dresses that could be considered goth. I almost gave up until I saw this one. It looks like nothing much from the front, but on the back…a huge cut out that looks like a spider web!! Enough said.

#4 Sherri Hill 1122 – Black, White & Red Mermaid

How on earth could Sherri Hill prom dresses ever be goth? Well, if Sherri Hill and Marilyn Manson had a teenager, she’d wear this. It’s the only dress on my list that is not all-black. The very top is white, cut by a blood red waistband, which cliff-dives to the ground in a long black taffeta skirt. Death becomes her.

#3 Faviana 6351 – Black Beaded Stretch Satin w/ Criss-Cross Back

Most of Faviana’s prom dresses are bright and colorful. This one is sinister and sexy and will totally rock you. It’s floor-length and jet black.

Details like the twilight, jeweled plunging bodice have the right amount of bling. It’s tight all the way to the waist and then it hangs loosely to the floor. The back is totally out and it has crossed spaghetti straps. Deadly hot!

#2 La Femme 15465 – Black Jersey w/ Split

Lots of goth chicks think La Femme prom dresses are too flowery. I found one that will raise the dead – it’s black of course. And there are these two broaches that look like they’re holding the dress together. Because they practically are! The dress goes down to the floor but the whole left leg is out. Your date will have an OMGoth moment.

#1 Tony Bowls TBE2918 – Black Short Sleeve Taffeta

Tony Bowls prom dresses will have you totally vamped out. If Anne Rice had a shop on Rodeo Drive she’d sell Tony Bowls dresses. This one looks like a super long, short-sleeved shirt dress with a train. The front is low for some sex appeal as well as high drama.

If you know to buy a prom dress online it will be easy to find these. May your prom be sweet misery. Later!

Sherri Hill Prom Dresses 2010

And every party is well…a party. I advise Sherri Hill 2011 dresses for metal chicks.

For this group, the best part of high school is music class. Learning your favorite song on the acoustic guitar and then pretending it’s actually a Fender or rocking out on the school band’s drum set, crashing the symbols like you’re in The Donnas is a common past time.

You’re probably in a band of your own with a couple of friends and you practice every day after school in your garage. You know that one day you’ll have a record deal and your singles will be in the Top 10 on iTunes.

With iPod buds in your ears, you stomp from class to class. Your attitude is ballsy and you have a fierce hairstyle – mohawk, dreads, or streaks of some wild color.

You have exactly one and one-half of an album’s worth of song lyrics written. And you’re always searching for a new bass player. You come up with a different name for your band every other month. And you’re really getting close to deciding on the perfect one.

At prom, you basically just want to look cool. As a heavy metal babe, you like lots of metallic accents on your clothing. Studs, sequins, chains, and other hardware are favored. And you’re attracted to dark or shiny colors like gold, silver, purple, and black.

You don’t want to look like a prep. And you don’t want to look prissy. There are some 2011 Sherri Hill dresses that share all of these values. Here are some examples to get you started:

• Style #2226 is a strapless, heavy metal mini-dress. It’s made of gold sequins.

• #1305 is a long, shimmering design of black sequins. A backless dip melts into a pool of fabric. It also comes in gunmetal.

• Design #2317 is a strapless royal purple garment. It has a bust to bottom hem exposed seam of black crystals.

• #2316 is royal purple too. It is intricately beaded with shiny pieces. And it has a knee to ankle split.

• #2333 is a long, jet-black halter dress. It has a mermaid silhouette and metal-set jewels decorating a cut-out back.

• A bold option would be #2017, which is completed decked out in aqua and bronze sequins.

• #1301, which is a black mini. It doesn’t have any straps and the top and bottom hems are lined with black feathers.

• The best example of all is #2321. It’s a Joan Jett / Pat Benatar inspired, skintight satin mini-dress. It has a metal zipper down the entire length of the front. And it’s decorated with a snakeskin pattern of extra-large crystals.

Pair your looks with fishnets, lace, fingerless gloves, and a leather choker and your 2011 Sherri Hill prom dresses will fit right in at your Headbanger’s ball. Turn your amp up to 11 and rock steady!

Jovani Prom Dresses 2010

Prom dresses are turning up in vast numbers. They are available in a variety of colors and sizes, and from a range of top designers such as Dynasty. Many say they feel more comfortable in shorter dresses and that elegant but short dresses are easier to dance in. Many parents agree that long and elegant dresses are the tradition.

Choosing the Right Size

The range in sizes varies from 0 to plus size and offers an assortment of fabrics and colors that are too many to list. If you are on bigger side, choose a dress one size bigger.

Choosing the Right Style

When shopping for your Prom dresses, it is important to find a style that complements your figure. Always have at least a vague idea of the color, look and style you are after and this part will be much easier. You may also want to consider a prom dress that gathers at the hip, as this style, gives the illusion of curves. If you looking for something fun and flirty, in the short homecoming dress style, then the short prom dresses range is the place for you.

Buying it Cheap

Do not forget the sale to find cheap and discounted prom dresses. Clearance items (also known as cheap) can be a great way to buy a nice dress for half the price of a normal dress. Buying a cheap prom dress should not mean sacrificing style or quality; and it does not when you buy with discount evening dress retailers.

Conclusion

Some of the big designers that make these dresses are Jovani, Faviana, Paris, Xcite, and Lee Mori. Modest prom dresses are the hottest topic today in the modest clothing industry. While short but elegant prom dresses are becoming increasingly popular, parents and teens need to take other things into consideration as well.
